CEO & Founder, Dr. Lauren Tucker

Dr. Lauren Tucker is a writer, strategist, and founder of Do What Matters, a platform dedicated to creative activism and inclusive progress. A lifelong advocate for equality, she brings wit, data, and strategy to the defense of democracy and the dismantling of monocultures in business and politics alike.

She is also the creator of Let the Cat Out the Bag, a civics-themed satire featuring Doc and Campbell the Cat — a talking tuxedo cat with a red bow tie and a lot of opinions.

A former data scientist and decision strategist in the advertising industry, Lauren has spent her career challenging systems that confuse homogeneity with excellence and privilege with merit.

As the founder and CEO of Do What Matters, she helped companies build cultures of belonging before “DEI” became a political flashpoint. When the anti-DEI backlash hit, she pivoted her focus to storytelling — exposing how inequity, disinformation, and greed erode both democracy and business performance.

Her essays and commentary have appeared in Forbes, Fast Company, AdAge, Business Insider, and Adweek, among others.

Lauren is currently working on the following satiric novels and short story collection:

  • The Funny Thing About the Great Chicago Baby Massacre
  • What’s Happening at the Blind Spot
  • The Horde
  • The Real Housewives of the Bible

Now based in Seville, Spain, she continues to write, teach, and speak internationally about inclusion, democracy, and the intersection of money, media, and power.

  • “I don’t just critique the system. I decode it.”

  • “Do What Matters began as a consultancy. It’s now a movement for creative activism.”

  • “Satire is truth with better timing.”

  • “I’m not anti-business — I’m anti-bullshit.”
